PUTRAJAYA, Nov 24 — The number of clinical wastes increased by 43.9 per cent in 2021 to 57,400 tonnes as compared to 39,900 tonnes in 2020, according to the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM).

PUTRAJAYA, April 29 — Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, the amount of clinical waste produced in 2020 grew by 18.1 per cent to 39,900 tonnes from 33,800 tonnes in 2019, according to the State Environment Statistics 2021 report.

PUTRAJAYA, Aug 20 — Selangor has recorded the highest amount of scheduled and clinical wastes in 2019 with 1.019 million tonnes and 7,343 tonnes, respectively, the Environment Statistics 2020 revealed.

KUALA LUMPUR, July 6 — A total of 6.25 tonnes of empty vaccine vials has been disposed of as clinical waste since the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK) was launched on February 24.

KUALA LUMPUR, June 5 — Clinical waste such as disposable plastics, rubber gloves and insulation gowns used by frontliners at health facilities have so far increased by 111.94 per cent compared to December 2019, which is before the Covid-19 pandemic took place in the country.

KUALA LUMPUR, April 4 — The amount of clinical waste generated in the country increased by 27 per cent last month compared to a 17 per cent rise in February following the Covid-19 outbreak, said Environment and Water Minister Datuk Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man.
